What Andy Said . . .

I first became a Christian a couple of years ago in November 2003.

There are three reasons I want to get baptised really.

The first is because Jesus said to (as Jim said earlier). It says: "Believe and be be baptised." Well, I've believed, and now I'm being baptised.

The second reason is that, as every Christian knows, there are times in your life when Satan tries to tempt you to say: "Well am I really a Christian? Have I really been saved? Does God really love me?" - and stuff like that. And that can be a a really destructive thing for a Christian to think. Being baptised is one of those things where you can just look back on it and say: "Yes I did that, I'm a Christian. I believed. I did that for God. So - go away Satan!" and I think that's probably going to be quite useful in my life.

The third reason is for a public decalaration of my faith really, so I can tell my friends and my family and the whole world that I've become a Christian and (as Jim said) I've put to death my old ways of life and and now I'm doing my best, with Jesus, to start a new life and do what pleases Him.

ANDY'S
SONG CHOICE:

"Jesus Christ, I think about your sacrifice"

The following webpage has the mp3 for download, and words (with guitar symbols) for this song.

So, Andy, why this song?

In the chorus it says these words:

Once again I look upon
The cross where you died,
I'm humbled by your mercy
And I'm broken inside,
Once again I thank you,
Once again I pour out my life.

This song is just so true. Every time I think about the sacrifice that Jesus made for me - he died for me - I realise how much he cares about me. I love him and I want to give my life to him; the "pouring out" of my life as described in the song.
