SUNDAY

a coachload of children

The children arrived. Having said that, many of them are older than me, so I'm not sure I should call them children.

Some of the English team who had been before were pleased to be reunited from friends they'd made in previous years. Some, like me, who hadn't been before just tried to figure out who was who and who would be in my dorm. As it happened my Latvian dorm leader was Andris, a nineteen year old Latvian who spoke very good English and Russian. The "second in command" as it were - each dorm had two non-English leaders - was a guy called Sasha (also called Alexandris), a nineteen year old Russian who spoke alright Latvian and not much English.
