WEDNESDAY

Every day after lunch we have a big game. The big game today was really good.

The Latvian children were "angels" taking "prayers" (bags of water) from the "earth" (the river) to "heaven" (a vat somewhere in the camp). The English team were "Demons" and we had to squirt the "angels" with water from our water bottles, march them to "hell" (the campfire), put their "prayers" in our vat and give them a "punishment" (a forfeit).

It was very good fun, though I did very much scare a small girl "angel" when she was cowering near some bushes. Just because I'm six foot two and we'd put charcoal on our faces from the campfire and we had bandannas saying "DEMON" in big red letters on our heads...

I got Esther to chase her in the end, it just felt a bit too cruel. Who says I don't have compassion?
